Green Skills: New footstep by AICTE to equip Engineering and Architecture students for future

Considering the demanding requirements for green infrastructures, AICTE plans to train 1 lakh Architecture and Engineering students on green building infrastructure and concepts.

AICTE will develop the course curricula in consultation with Indian Green Building Council  (IGBC), which has expertise in this field.

The initiative will encourage all the Civil and Architectural Engineering students to learn new skills to develop green cities.

Buddha Chandrasekhar, chief coordinating officer, AICTE, Ministry of Education, says  “For instance, recently Delhi Airport has become the first airport in the country to entirely run on renewable energy. The same changes should also be implemented while developing hospitals as our existing hospitals are not environment friendly. ”
