James Dyson Foundation Award for Innovative Idea

Sir James Dyson invented his first dual cyclone vacuum cleaner and was the founder of the multi-billion dollar household appliances company Dyson. 

He spent time on failed efforts and finally, he succeeded in making his working product.

In 2005 The James Dyson Foundation opened an opportunity to young design engineers who can change lives. The James Dyson Award is for designing something that solves a problem in daily life or a global issue.

Eligible participants must be or have been enrolled for at least one semester in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering/Design-related course within the last four years. 

This course must be at a university in a country or region chosen to participate in the James Dyson Award. Team entries are also eligible.

The last date to apply is 6th July 2022.
