CBSE allows students to switch from Basic to Standard Mathematics

CBSE started offering two options to the students in class X; one is basic Mathematics, and the other is Standard Mathematics. Basic Mathematics has a slightly simpler level of difficulty as compared to Standard Mathematics.

Students who opted for Basic Mathematics in class X this academic year can now opt for Standard Mathematics in class XI.

The students can change to Standard Maths only after they qualify the compartment exam for Standard Maths.

A provision has been made for the takers of Basic Mathematics to switch to Standard Mathematics if they wish to as per their capability,” says Sanyam Bhardwaj, controller of examinations, CBSE.
