Numeracy deficiencies reported by NCERT in government schools of tier 3 and tier 4 cities

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) report on ‘Benchmarking for oral reading fluency with reading comprehension and numeracy 2022’ shows that 11% of class III students in India lack basic skills in Mathematics. 

As many as 13 states, along with the UTs, where class III students have limited knowledge in basic math and skills, due to which they can partially complete the class-level tasks.

The report has got academics to think of a solution to upgrade mathematical knowledge.
